Cleaning Agent
Solvent-based cleaning agents refer to water-insoluble organic solvents. Non-aqueous cleaning agents used for precision industrial cleaning mainly include hydrocarbon (petroleum-based), chlorinated hydrocarbon, fluorinated hydrocarbon, brominated hydrocarbon, alcohols, organosilicone oil, terpenes and other organic solvents.
Key parameters for evaluating solvents include KB value (Kauri-Butanol value), AP (aniline point), SP solubility parameter, surface tension, density, viscosity, boiling point, flash point and exposure concentration. A solvent with a high KB value, i.e. strong dissolving power, is not necessarily a good cleaning agent.
A qualified precision industrial cleaning agent must meet the following requirements:
1. Chemically stable, and not prone to react with the workpiece to be cleaned;
2. Low surface tension and viscosity with strong penetrating power;
3. Low boiling point for self-drying;
4. No flash point and non-flammable;
5. Moderate KB value to prevent dissolution of the cleaned substrate;
6. Low toxicity for safe handling;
7. Non-ODS and low GWP (Global Warming Potential), environmentally friendly.
